In Book Four, Pouff lives at the Vort with Quarex. He is the product
of experiments by Prism to meld dark and light matter with the
consequence that he can see and reflect either or both at will. This
means that when he reflects the dark energy spectrum, he turns
invisible for people who can’t see dark matter (like human beings).
Pouff is highly intelligent, too, and wants to leave the Vort. He
finds allies in Max and Elaine and a real friend in Callista.
