Gunnar is the admiral of the fledging Martian Navy when it comes
under attack in Book Two. He’s serious and always pragmatic,
providing advice and guidance to Marion, Daniel, Max, and Elaine
throughout the series. He is a great supporter of Max in the early
days, especially when Max and Elaine save the Navy during the
short war with Earth.
