Daniel has been near Mars for 25 years and instrumental in the
development, construction, and now operation of the Mars Orbital
Smelting Array (MOSA, specifically MOSA One). As Managing Director
he has an office on the 900-meter long artificial satellite of Mars that
captures the incoming ores from the asteroid belt, smelts them to their
elemental metals, and fires the ingots off a rail launcher to be recovered
near Earth. Daniel falls in love with Marion and they ultimately marry.
