MOSA I

MOSA I

The Mars Orbital Smelting Array or MOSA is just that—a station orbiting Mars at about 30,000 kilometers up which uses the sun’s rays to refine recovered asteroidal metals and then fire the ingots back toward Earth via rail launchers. MOSA is comprised of 9 doughnut- shaped sections arranged around the hollow tube where the “sunstream” metal fabrication facilities are housed. These sections include industrial and manufacturing facilities, docks, storage and material handling operations, large-scale hydroponic gardening, housing, health
clinics and a hospital, and numerous entertainment venues. MOSA has spectacular views of
Mars which regularly peeks in as MOSA rotates to create artificial gravity.
